Any real fitness trainer knows that the recovery process is just as important as the actual workout.  If you don’t allow your body to recover from a workout, you could actually cause your body more harm than good.  Injuries occur when you don’t do the proper P90X recovery methods, so you need to make sure you follow the schedule exactly how it is in the P90X program.  Not only will you be able to prevent yourself from becoming injured, but your muscles will also have time to rebuild and repair themselves during the P90X recovery process.  Many people like to drink supplement shakes after a workout, and this has actually been proven to be a rather solid idea.  Any type of drink filled with proteins is the ideal thing to consume after a solid workout.  Your body needs the proteins found in these drinks to help muscles build and repair themselves, so it is important to try and get some proteins in your body after a solid workout.  You will not be able to get all of the benefits from a workout if you do not get the right materials in your body after doing some cardio or lifting weights.
